Please review the RUE requirements below as you prepare your application to Brown.
Application and Resume
- A completed RUE application form.
- A current resume uploaded via the application.
A non-refundable application fee of $75. Fee waivers are automatically granted to all U.S. military service members and veterans. If the application fee proves too much in cases of financial hardship, please email email@example.com and we will review your request for a fee waiver.
Official academic transcripts sent to us directly from your secondary school(s) and college(s), if applicable.
At least one academic recommendation (two preferred), from a professor, teacher or academic counselor, if possible. Recommendations should be requested using the tool within the application.
Additional recommendations from employers, community members or others who can speak to your experience and talents are welcomed but not required.
Standardized Test Scores
Test scores (SAT or ACT) are not required nor expected. Applicants may self-report scores in the application or have them sent from the ACT or SAT. Admitted applicants with self-reported scores may be asked for official verification.
We welcome the submission of a short video introduction via your Brown Applicant Portal. Sharing a two-minute personal video is a helpful way to show us who you are and why you are interested in attending Brown. Once logged in to your portal you will be given the option to submit a two-minute personal video introduction. When submitting a video introduction, the RUE deadline is 11:59 p.m. (applicant's local time) March 4. While you will not be able to upload your video until you receive Brown Applicant Portal access, we encourage you to record your introduction in advance of the deadline. This will allow you to upload as soon as you receive your login credentials and ensure that your submission is added to your application as soon as possible.
