Mateen Markzar
Biography
Hi! My name is Mateen Markzar and I'm a member of the class of 2026 from Los Angeles, California, concentrating in Neuroscience. When I'm not busy studying at my top-secret-study-spot (or hammocking on the Quiet Green), I work as an EMT with Brown EMS, our student ambulance corps, or kicking on the mats with Brown's nationally-ranked Taekwondo team. I'm very active within the Jewish community at Brown, spending Shabbat dinners at Chabad and leading services at Brown-RISD Hillel. I'm also a research assistant at the Center for Translational Neuroscience in the Morrow Lab investigating autism, intellectual disability, and other neurodegenerative diseases. In my free time, you can find me surfing at the beach, exploring the many coffee shops and restaurants in Providence (and then recreating them in my own kitchen), or learning a new song on guitar! Feel free to reach out with any questions! |
